Director DJ’s Message

An early Hau’oli Makahiki Hou to everyone in the Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School learning community, and we hope you are enjoying your Winter Break. We appreciate our work together to provide a quality free public education for the keiki of Kaua’i and look forward to our continued collaboration in 2025.

Mahalo nui kakou for your generosity in supporting the annual Holiday Hamper program at our school.

Ho’omaika’i e Ms. Jenny for earning the prestigious honor of being named the top practitioner in the state of Hawai’i in the month of December. We greatly respect and appreciate her amazing work in keeping our precious keiki healthy.

It is hard to imagine but a bizarre weather pattern caused a Snow Day on campus as seen in our main image this week. We wish to recognize the Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network for causing this rare weather phenomenon.

It was magical to see Bottle Rockets being launched on campus last week. Our gratitude to Mark Howard who shared his rocket engineering expertise with our Grade Four students. This event on our remote campus is another perfect example of the reasons that Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School is incredibly unique.

Best wishes for a prosperous 2025 filled with health and happiness. Malama pono.
