Hau’oli La Heleui to the good people in the learning community of Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School, and we hope this message finds you in good health and happiness as we cruise towards Halloween this week.
Mahalo nui kakou for making this school incredibly fun for our learners and working in collaboration with the school to bring entertaining events to our campus. One of the best examples of this positive relationship is our annual Trunk or Treat event, held on Halloween, rain or shine. Once again we warmly welcome everyone in our learning community to participate.
Last year over thirty vehicles joined the festivities. Mr. Jon and Mr. Adam will help vehicles park in a circle on the field anytime after 8:15 am so everyone can get set up early. Our learners will arrive at Trunk or Treat after our daily Morning Piko and Assembly, around 9:00 am and 9:10 am. For health and safety reasons we do ask that all distributed treats are store purchased and individually wrapped. Learners will stop by each vehicle in single file sequential order starting with our keiki in Kindergarten. Trunk or Treat is usually over well before 11:00 am for your planning purposes.
As Halloween tends to be a festive day for keiki on our island, Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School will have an early dismissal to allow everyone to get home early enough for personal activities. Some of our learners have upwards of a 90 minute trip to our campus which speaks highly of their commitment to a high quality education.
Best wishes to you all for a wonderful week ahead. Malama pono.
