Director DJ’s Message

Aloha mai kakou to the good people in the learning community of Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School. We hope this message finds you in good health and happiness as we approach our annual Spring Break.

Mahalo nui kakou to everyone who graced our campus last Friday for the March School-Wide Assembly, Learner-Led Conferences, and Lunch on Lawn. We were thrilled to see the large number of people from our learning community who took the time and effort to celebrate the work of our students.

We are excited for our upcoming Spirit Week, celebrating “Aloha Across America”. Our great gratitude goes to Mrs. Shay and Ms. Kate who worked together to plan all the fun events. There is no question that one of the highlights from last year will be replicated this Tuesday with the creation of a giant lei on campus. We are asking all our learners and staff members to bring one carefully and respectfully harvested flower to school, and from everyone’s contributions, we will create one giant lei. Last year we placed the school lei on the school sign out front and finished by singing the school song together.

For more precise details, please check out the flyer that came home in the Green Folders and was also distributed via ParentSquare.

This is a helpful reminder that our annual Spring Break will be March 17th to March 21st, with no school for our learners during that time.

Best wishes to you all for a wonderful week ahead. Malama pono.
