Ms. Jennifer C.
Finding a new home in Kauai, Jennifer comes to us from Colorado with thirty years of experience in the field of education. Her undergraduate work with a double major in Anthropology and Ecology was rooted in the desire to reconnect students with nature, which she has applied through expeditionary and experiential learning models for inner city youth and alternative forums alike. Jen’s time in Title I, public, and charter schools has allowed her to participate in alternative schooling forums, including theatre-based, homeschooling, and wilderness adjudicated youth initiatives, to name a few.
Jennifer’s MEd focused on creativity and contemplative studies within the learning process and she remains forever a student of indigenous models of education. Through her time as a district wellness coordinator and assistant principal, she developed programs that reconnected families with the community and guided staff towards sustainable educational practices. As an educator dedicated to the well-being of the planet and of humanity, she is forever a student and is committed to supporting students in following their own inner compass and allowing their longings for themselves and the world to be their North Star.
