School news and events for the week of 11.25.2024

Hau’oli La Ho’omaika’i greetings to the good people in the learning community of Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School. We hope this message finds you all in good health and happiness as we approach Thanksgiving. In this season of gratitude, please accept this message of appreciation for your support of our unique charter school. Some learners started with us when we opened seven years ago, and we greatly respect their patience as the school moved from surviving to thriving.

We also wish to recognize Ms. Kate and her excellent leadership. She hosts the Kindness Club, a fun group that gets together every Wednesday to promote kindness everywhere on our campus. The latest project that the Kindness Club has been working on together is “Kindness Rocks” in which learners decorate rocks with messages to spread kindness.

Last Friday we held our fifth annual Turkey Trot on campus. This cross-country physical activity was held on a new course for our staff and students. We are proud of all the participants and look forward to awarding the prizes to the top male and top female from each grade level at our next School-Wide Assembly.

A helpful reminder that Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday from Thursday, November 28th to Sunday, December 1st. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Monday, December 2nd.

Best wishes for a terrific Thanksgiving break filled with food, fun, and family. Malama pono.
