School news and events for the week of 05.12.2025

Aloha mai kakou to the Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School learning community, and we hope this message finds you in good health and happiness as we rapidly approach the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year. One of the supportive cornerstones of the incredible positive growth at our school has been our amazing parents. A happy example of the contributions from parents can be found by looking at the countless volunteer hours provided by our Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network.

The Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network supports our learning community throughout the school year. Their work begins with the energetic Campus Cleanup held in late July, marking the start of the next school year. Each month, this dedicated group returns to campuses to provide Hot Lunch Days for our school. These incredible individuals also donate a massive amount of time and energy to the annual “Lights on Rice” Christmas Parade entry. Remember Jog-A-Thon? Once again, the Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network helped run this lively event. Last weekend, the group stepped up again to help with our annual Keiki Activity Station at the Kaua’i Charity Walk. These are just a few examples of the many, many ways that the Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network supports our school community.

Ms. Kalina has been the diligent and enthusiastic leader of this group for the last number of years. She consistently goes above and beyond to provide support for Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School. We wish to express our great gratitude to all who have helped out at the school, and most notably Ms. Kalina, who has faithfully served as President of Na Hoa O Alaka’i Parent Teacher Network.
