School news and events for the week of 03.03.2025

Aloha mai kakou to the good people in the learning community of Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School. We hope this message finds you all in good health and happiness as we enter the month of March. Mahalo nui for your support of our unique charter school. It is hard to imagine that we sit a few short weeks away from the annual Spring Break from March 15th to March 23rd.

We hosted the delightful Makahiki Games on campus again this year under nearly perfect conditions. We are extremely proud of our learners for their active and enthusiastic participation in this fun event. Great to see our school move ever closer to embracing Hawai’ian cultural traditions in the beautiful space we share in Kahili Valley.

Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School will try a new concept in the theme of continuous improvement on our campus. On Friday, March 7th, we will experience a trifecta of fun at Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School by offering three events on one day. We hope that by hosting three events on one day, more members of our learning community will be empowered to join us for the festivities on campus.

We will start with the school-wide Assembly for March in the Main Gym, starting at 9 am. The Assembly usually lasts around one hour, and then we will take a short recess break before starting the Learner Led Conferences at 10:30 am. Please reach out to the classroom teacher for specific details on this important sharing of learning by our keiki. We will conclude the day with another “Lunch on the Lawn” where everyone is warmly invited to enjoy your lunch together on the field.

We LOVE hosting our learning community on our campus and hope you can find some time on March 7th to join some or all of the trifecta of fun.

Best wishes to you all for a wonderful week ahead. Malama pono.
