Aloha mai kākou, Alakaʻi O Kauaʻi Charter School ʻOhana,

It is with a heart full of excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Poʻo Kumu and Director of our wonderful school. I am truly honored to be joining this incredible community. From the moment I first learned about Alakaʻi O Kauaʻi, I was inspired by the commitment to project-based learning, the dedication to nurturing the whole child, and the strong sense of ʻohana that is woven into the very fabric of the school.

In the short time I have been here, I have been met with nothing but kindness and the most genuine aloha from everyone. The warmth and welcoming spirit of the staff, parents, and learners I’ve had the pleasure of meeting have already made me feel right at home. It is clear that this is a special place, built on a foundation of mutual respect, collaboration, and a shared passion for learning.

I am eager to get to know each of you and to listen and learn about all the things that make Alakaʻi O Kauaʻi a beacon of education on our island. I look forward to partnering with our Board of Directors, talented facilitators (teachers), dedicated parents, community business partners, and, of course, our amazing learners to continue the great work that has already been established.

Thank you for the incredibly warm welcome. I am thrilled to begin this journey with all of you and to support the continued growth and success of our school. My door is always open.

Me ke aloha pumehana (with warm regards),

Paul Zina
