School news and events for the week of {date}

One of the joys of Project-Based Learning is seeing our learners focus on topics that are meaningful, that have an impact on the 21st Century world we live in now, and in the future.

Our 5th-grade class chose a project that focuses on the impact certain industries have on our water supply globally. The driving question for their project was, “How do we make sure communities are not required to pay for water that they use on daily basis?”

In addition, they were able to understand how some countries suffer due to certain companies that use our natural resources for financial profit, with little care about the negative effects on the lives of some populations. I learned a lot from this project, and hope that our learners gain new insights into a problem that exists in our world, that we all need to be made aware of.

Thanks to our 5th grade learners for this project!

Thank you,
