School news and events for the week of {date}

Dear Parents,

Alaka’i O Kaua’i has several upcoming opportunities for parent involvement over the next few weeks.

I would like to invite you to join me for our 2nd Coffee and Conversation, this Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 8:15 a.m., in the library. We also have our Alaka’i Ohana Network meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 5, after school in the library. We’ll be planning our final preparations for the Lights on Rice Parade among other topics and hope to see you there. On Dec. 14, from 12:30-1:40 p.m., we will be holding our first PBL Presentation of Learning for all learners from grades K-7. Come see our keiki show off and present what they have learned during our first PBL unit of study! We look forward to celebrating this display of authentic learning together! Invite your friends and family!

Walmart Foundation Grant

Alaka’i recently got a shipment of new iPads and Chromebooks for our keiki, thanks to a Walmart Foundation Grant of $32,500. We are so thankful for this generous gift, which has allowed us to purchase some much-needed technology for our school.
