Bob Wu
Bob is the founder and managing partner of Vermilion Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund. He was previously a venture partner at Primary Venture Partners, focusing on incubating new companies. Previous to that, he was the CEO and founder of a venture backed start-up, Teleport, which worked with cities to provide on-demand transportation for people with disabilities and senior citizens. Before that, he started his career at Ziff Brothers Investments serving in a variety of roles including managing a $1B+ fund of funds portfolio.
Bob has led and served on several non-profits boards, such as Taiwanese American Professionals – New York (TAP-NY), Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL), Amigos de las Americas – NY Chapter and the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP). He holds a BA in International Relations (Global Business) from the University of Southern California. Bob holds a 4th-degree black belt in Kendo and is actively involved in the Lihue Kendo Club.
Bob believes in serving the community and loves teaching the next generation. Bob has taught financial literacy through Junior Achievement (JA) and entrepreneurship through Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to high school students in New York.
