Director Paul’s Message

Wala’au Weekly Update: Lights, Camera, Action!

Congratulations to our incredible Middle School learners for their outstanding achievement at the Kaua’i Student Film Challenge, sponsored by the Kaua’i Economic Development Board! Our talented film crew secured a Second Place finish, showcasing not only their technical skills in cinematography and editing but also their ability to tell a compelling story.

This project was a perfect example of Project-Based Learning in action. To meet the challenge, our students had to manage tight deadlines, collaborate across different roles, and think critically about how to represent our island’s unique perspective through the lens. Their success is a testament to the “Excellence” and “Responsibility” they bring to their work every day. Mahalo to the Kaua’i Economic Development Board for providing this platform for our youth to shine.

Be sure to give our middle school filmmakers a high-five when you see them on campus! We are so proud of your creativity and your commitment to high-quality work.

Mahalo for supporting our learners as they strive for excellence!
Mr. Paul, Po’okumu
