Director Paul’s Message

The Numbers Are In!

Aloha Alaka’i O Kaua’i Families! All week, our campus was buzzing with excitement as learners from third grade through Middle School participated in our school-wide Math Facts Competition. From daily “warm-up sprints” to head-to-head battles, our learners have been sharpening their mental math skills while building the fluency and confidence they need for complex, project-based learning.

This competition is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of perseverance and academic grit. By mastering these foundational skills, our learners are better equipped to tackle real-world challenges with “Self-Efficacy”- a core value of our HĀ framework. Stay tuned for next month’s update, where we will announce our Grade Level and School-Wide Champions!

In the meantime, please keep the momentum going at home with a quick round of flashcards or a math game. Click here to visit the website that we used for the competition.

Mahalo for supporting our learners as they strive for excellence!
Mr. Paul, Po’okumu
