Aloha mai kakou to the Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School learning community, and I hope this message finds you in good health and happiness as we move into the middle of July.

Although it is Summer Break for our creative learners and talented 10-month employees, there continues to be a flurry of activity as we prepare for the return of staff at the end of July and our learners at the beginning of August.

We all appreciate the excellent service that Ms. Malissa brings to our campus as our School Counselor and the positive impact she has on us all. Ms. Malissa spent some time this summer on campus reimagining our Learning Commons so the space would become much more user-friendly for our students. Check out the improved use of the area, complete with the ability of our learners to have even greater access to the books there. Great work, Ms. Malissa!

Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School is thrilled to be in full expansion of our Charter Contract by adding Grade Eight ot our school in 2024-2025. Our Grade Eight Homeroom teachers, Ms. Brett and Ms. Kate, have selflessly volunteered several days of their Summer Break to come to campus and work on the converted Art Room into a Grade Eight classroom. This week, you can see the amazing transformation of this space due to the efforts of Dr. Jon and Mr. Adam, who are fully supported by Dr. Jon.

This is a happy reminder that you can come to the school and help out on our annual Campus Cleanup Day, scheduled for Saturday, July 27th. A Signup Genius invitation will be coming soon, with sessions from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
