Ms. Brett

Ms. Brett has fifteen years of experience in education. For most of her career, she taught high school English. Since moving to Kauai in 2016, she has worked with preschool age children and also at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School. Ms. Brett has a BA in English with a concentration in Ethnic and Cultural Studies and an MA in Secondary Education. One of her greatest strengths and joys as an educator is her ability to connect with and engage a diverse population of students. Some of the brightest moments in her career have been when, through creative lesson planning and project-based learning, ELA content becomes accessible to struggling readers and writers. It is her aim to encourage students to find joy in literacy and become lifelong readers.

In her free time, Ms. Brett loves spending time outdoors and being active. She enjoys surfing, hiking, snowboarding, teaching Pilates classes, and hanging out at the beach with her family.
