Ms. Emily

Grade 7B Homeroom and Middle School Social Studies Facilitator

Ms. Emily was born and raised in San Jose, California. She attended college at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, studying music composition and classical voice. During Covid, she completed a master’s program in music education through University of Florida.

In 2017, Emily and her husband, Kyle, moved from California to Oahu, where she serendipitously accepted a position teaching music at Windward Nazarene Academy, a PreK-8 private school. She also moonlighted as a preschool teacher, leading the preschool extended day program and teaching pre-k summer school. In 2022, Emily and Kyle moved back to Kyle’s home island of Kaua’i to be closer to Kyle’s family. In January 2023, Emily started a long-term subbing position at Alaka’i, and the rest is history! In her spare time, Emily likes to read, crochet, and spend time with her family and friends.
