Emily Furusho

Ms. Emily was born and raised in California. She received her bachelor’s degree in music composition from Point Loma Nazarene University and her master’s degree in music education from the University of Florida. In 2017, she and her husband Kyle moved to Oahu, where she serendipitously accepted a job teaching music at Windward Nazarene Academy, a PreK-8 private school. She also moonlighted as a preschool teacher, leading the preschool extended day program and teaching pre-k summer school. In 2022, Emily and Kyle decided to move back to Kyle’s home island of Kaua’i. In January 2023, Emily started a long-term subbing position at Alaka’i and the rest is history!

In her spare time, Emily likes to read, crochet, and do jigsaw puzzles.
