Hau’oli Makahiki Hou to the good people in the Alaka’i O Kaua’i Charter School learning community and hope the start of 2021 has treated you well. As we mark the end of winter break, we sincerely wish that everyone enjoyed a happy and healthy break away from school.
We greatly appreciate the efforts of the good people on the island of Kaua’i for keeping our active COVID cases low and are pleased to share that we can safely return to the green level to start 2021. We look forward to having all our learners on campus all the time starting on Tuesday, January 5. As Monday, January 4, is already a professional learning day for our staff, we will welcome all of our learners for full days with no early dismissal day for this week.
A hearty mahalo to all who generously donated to the Sharing Program that we introduced in the month of December. Hundreds of canned goods found new homes due to your kindness as we all understand the complexity of needs on our beautiful island in pandemic times. We also are seeing a bountiful crop of citrus fruits in the orchards that sit adjacent to our campus, which serves as a reminder of the blessing of such a scenic school setting.
Mahalo for your support of our school, and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2021.
